Woman Killed In Prison Van Collision
A woman has died from her injuries after being hit by a prison vehicle.
The victim is said to have blocked the path of the Serco security van and goaded the driver seconds before the incident in Brixton.
The driver was initially arrested and questioned by police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released and told to return for further inquiries today.
The driver was transporting 11 prisoners in the Serco van when the incident happened outside the Town Hall in Brixton Hill, south west London on Tuesday evening.
The woman, who was around 30 years of age, is said to have been dragged along under the vehicle for some yards after being hit.
A Secro spokeman said: "We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family of the woman who has lost her life in this tragic accident."
He added that they were co-operating fully with the police in their investigation.
The Metropolitan Police's collision unit are investigating the incident.

Disabled Woman Found Dead In Car
A disabled woman found stabbed to death in her car near her home in Harlow, Essex, has been named. Jennifer Macaree was discovered in Hadley Grange on the outskirts of Harlow early on Saturday. Essex Police confirmed she was in the driver's seat of her black Vauxhall Corsa in a parking area near her flat shortly after 3am.

Baby Death Mother Named
The British woman charged with causing the death of her newborn baby in a hotel room in Crete has been named. Leah Andrew, from London, has been charged with infantide after being arrested in Malia on Tuesday. Ms Andrew was rushed to hospital by local residents after giving birth alone in her room.

Man arrested over canal torso find
A man has been arrested following the discovery of a woman's torso in a suitcase which was floating in London's Regent's Canal. Police were called to the Regents Canal in Islington on Saturday after a group of teenagers spotted a suitcase floating in the water. They managed to pull the case from the water and discovered a human torso inside.

OAP Charged After Knife Attack
An 85-year-old man has been charged after an elderly woman was stabbed in Edinburgh yesterday. Bendicta McLean, 74, was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with a chest wound, after the incident happened in Clermiston Road, Corstorphine, at around 1pm. Lothian and Borders Police have said she is in a stable condition in hospital.
