Presenter 'Left Suicide Notes'

TV presenter Mark Speight left two suicide notes, an inquest into his death has heard.

The inquest at Westminster's Coroner's Court, which opened today, heard that a suicide note was found on the 42-year-old's body, which was found hanging in a building next to Paddington Railway Station on Sunday morning.

Another note was found at the presenter's flat in St John's Wood in northwest London.

Mr Speight disappeared on April 7. His body was found on the roof of MacMillan House, next to Paddington Railway Station, on Sunday.

British Transport Police confirmed that his body was found "in a remote area, out of public view".

A post mortem was carried out on Tuesday. It confirmed that the cause of death was hanging.

Police said that they are not treating the death as suspicious. They are now investigating how the presenter managed to find his way into the partially disused office block.

They are examining CCTV footage from the station on the day that he was last seen alive.

Mr Speight had reportedly been devastated following the death of his fiancée Natasha Collins in January.

Miss Collins, 31, was found dead in the flat she shared with Mr Speight on January 3.

Earlier this month, an inquest recorded a verdict of death by misadventure after hearing how she had taken cocaine, sleeping tablets and alcohol.

Miss Collins, who was found in the bath, had also suffered 60% burns from the boiling water.

Mr Speight was arrested on suspicion of murder and supplying Class A drugs following Miss Collins' death, but he was not charged with any offences.

He had been living with Miss Collins' mother, Carmen, following his fiancée's death and it was she who reported him missing last week, when he failed to meet her.

A full inquest into Mr Speight's death is due to be opened in May.
