Man Jailed For Attempted Murder Of Pc
A south London man has been jailed for 25 years for tying to shoot a policeman. Michael Mitchell, 32, of Babington Road, Streatham, was convicted of attempting to murder Pc Shaun Callow, possession of a firearm and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

July 7 London bombing 999 call heard
A 999 call made to emergency services during the July 7 bomb attacks in London has been heard in public for the first time. The call was replayed during a meeting of the London Assembly committee, which is reviewing the handling of the attacks.

Wife of July 7 bomber arrested
Counter-terrorism officers investigating the July 7 bombings in London have arrested four people, including the wife of one of the bombers. Hasina Patel, 29, the widow of Mohammed Sidique Khan was arrested in West Yorkshire, along with two men, aged 30 and 34. A fourth person, a man aged 22, was arrested in Birmingham.

Man Charged With Sexual Assaults On Public Transport
A man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on public transport in Tower Hamlets earlier this year. Sadikur Rahman, 40, of Shrewsbury Road, Forest Gate, has been charged in connection with two incidents on route 339 buses in Tower Hamlets.

Body Recovered From Hampstead Ponds
Police divers have recovered a body from a pond in a north London park. Police were called to Hampstead Ponds on Hampstead Heath at 17:30 on Wednesday, following reports that a teenager had gotten into difficulty in the water. The Marine Policing Unit used three boats to search the pond, recovering a body just before 23:00.
