Established by Adrienne Stuart over 30 years ago, Gransha Equestrian Centre is a British Horse Society approved riding school and livery yard set in around 42 beautiful acres. Located between Bangor, Newtownards and Donaghadee, we’re in the perfect place for you to visit, whether you live locally, or are just passing through on holiday.
Gransha Equestrian Centre can accommodate your needs and help you improve regardless of your level of ability. If you would like to start learning to ride we can offer you a place in our regular weekly lessons to build confidence and progress in ability. If you have your own horse and wish to improve and compete, we can offer lessons for you and your horse, stabling while you immerse in coaching for a range of disciplines, school your horse for you or invite you to take part in our competitions for all levels and abilities. Whatever your level of experience, anyone aged five upwards is welcome.
We offer livery services and run a wide range of indoor and outdoor events including dressage, cross country, showjumping and working hunter competitions. A variety of training clinics with specialist instructors run throughout the year.
Facilities
We have a huge range of facilities including our amazing new indoor arena. The Antwerp Arena is 72m x 24m and is bright and airy with a superb Martin Collins surface. Our original indoor arena is 60m x 24m. We have a covered horsewalker, and cross country course including around 30 jumps. To compliment the indoor facilities we recently extended our Derby All Weather Arena and added a superb water complex and sunken lane. There are 42 acres of farmland and a second all weather arena for every day riding or warm up facility for competition days.
Riding Lessons
We offer a full range of private and group lessons to suit riders from 5 years old upwards. Private lessons can be arranged most weekdays – pre booking is essential.

Group lessons run every day except Mondays and are taught by well qualified instructors experienced in providing tuition to all levels of riders from the absolute beginner to the more advanced. You will be assessed on arrival and matched up with one of our carefully selected horses or ponies suited to your size and ability. The frequently asked questions section will provide more detailed information.
