The Smart Bunker, Castlewellan

What an amazing piece of kit from an equally amazing company with first class customer service. Bunker ordered Monday night and was here on Thursday morning. Watched the assembly video a couple of times and had it constructed and in place in under 10 minutes. It really is as simple as advertised. Niall’s customer service is fab with much patience for my endless questions about size of coal….who knew there were so many options!!!! Thanks Niall I’m sort of looking forward to winter now ????

I found you because l already have a smartbunker and it works so well for animal feed, I wanted to get another to replace the salt/grit bins I was using up to now…

Animal health visited me a few years ago and the chap was so impressed he was taking pictures to show colleagues and would also recommend to other smallholders..

I asked when or where did you buy the smart bunker

Am not sure where I got it, might have been on ebay when you were in early days maybe 2013.

I have my current one set up to do a mix of grains for my poultry, but the new one will be to hold feed for my goats. It will free up a ton of floor space in my feed area…and less likely for the goats to raid it as well if they break out as I tend to leave the lid up on the grit bins when I am tired lol.

Can I have a blue one please, I will keep poultry food in black, and goat feed in blue…

It is me confusing matters by talking about grit bins… these were my old storage system… but they aren’t very practical and hold stuff in the bottom, plus it isn’t a first in first out (FIFO) system which is much better for keeping feed dispensed within expiry dates etc.

Your bins are great because they fit the FIFO principle, and I hang a clipboard near for expiry/lot numbers of feed bags. Dry, no vermin can get in and the other thing I have noticed is no condensation. Much smaller footprint compared to the giant bins I was using before.

I understand why your bins are the size they are, and it makes perfect sense.
The principal you use if very good. It allows to use the “older” feed first. The easy access to the feed is very good as well. So yes,

Takes 6 25Kg bags of coal no problem and works a treat.
If you have a coal fire this is an essential – saves time and mess.

Many thanks for taking my call yesterday and as discussed please find some feedbeek.

We find that the Smartbunker is easy to use and dispensing the coal is very quick and easy. With other coal bunkers it can be difficult to get the coal from the bunker. The bunker is very sturdy and steady. Ours was actually outside when Ophelia was raging. It didn’t topple over and moved very little and there was no coal inside it! I have recommended it to other family members.

I just wanted to let you know that I eventually persuaded my husband to buy me the Smart Bunker for Christmas.

It has to be one of the best presents I’ve had. We love it! The coalman loves it. We’ve been showing it off and making the neighbours envious.

We’ve timed ourselves and we can get from the fire with an empty bucket and back to the fire with a full bucket in 52 seconds lol.

Just bought the coal bunker for my parents, very easy assembled. Very robust plastics but it looks neat and tidy. My mum and dad are over the moon with it, they can’t believe how easy it is to operate. I ordered this at 11.30 am and it was delivered to my house at 1pm the next day brilliant service.

Keep meaning to post this. I have been using my Smart Bunkers for about a year now to store my bulk horse feed. They are great!!! Can’t recommend them enough! They hold 8, 20kg bags with ease and keeps it fresh (not that it really gets a chance to go off), but they also keep my feed room nice and clean and rodent free.

Great product, saves so much time when filling our coal bucket with the lever dispenser, keeps the coal dry and can holds around five bags of coal!

Likes: easy to use, good size, robust, good looking, very convenient, secure from vermin. We really like the units and would recommend them no worries.

Brilliant product,very well made,light and so easy to move around if needs be,a clean and tidy addition around a house/shed.
