Academy Hair and Beauty Training School is the lead training provider for hairdressing and beauty therapy in Northern Ireland with our expertise having been developed over 4 decades. We are a unique, highly successful specialist training provider with 2 purpose built sites in prime locations in Belfast and Newry.

Academy Hair and Beauty Training School is highly respected within the industry for its outstanding training provision to School Leavers and Apprentices working towards recognised qualifications. All of our Learners and Apprentices are trained by highly skilled, professional hairdressing and beauty tutors who deliver first class training. We also have
Strong and effective partnerships with the leading hairdressing and beauty salons throughout Northern Ireland who employ highly skilled, professional stylists and beauticians who are at the top of their field.

At the Academy there are excellent opportunities for placement and employment within the hairdressing and beauty industry. All Learners and Apprentices receive a training allowance/wage, bonus payments and travel expenses throughout the duration of their training programme.

The Academy was set up in 1976 with one campus in Rosemary Street and since that date has spread across Northern Ireland with four further campuses in Belfast, Ballymena, Newry and Portadown with great success. We are a modern and contemporary organisation who are recognised internationally as a sector leader in hairdressing and beauty therapy.

The quality of the provision at the Academy has received extremely high levels of praise and accolades from Education Training Inspectorate (ETI), Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) and awarding bodies City and Guilds and Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT). The Academy has had the accolade of Grade 1 – Outstanding for our quality of provision in both hairdressing and beauty therapy for the last 12 years with the latest inspection outcome of outstanding received in February 2016 for hairdressing and again in November 2015 for beauty. This is an unprecedented achievement within the hairdressing and beauty industry both locally and nationally. We will continue to consolidate our achievements, our reputation and our best practice.

Salon Employers
The Academy Hair and Beauty Training School has built excellent links with hairdressing and beauty salons throughout Northern over the past 40 years. It is our ultimate goal to have our students trained to the highest standards and to equip them with the skills required to take up challenging employment opportunities in the hairdressing and beauty industry within Northern Ireland and beyond.
