High Court Rules Against Council's Library Plan
The High Court has ruled that a council's plan to re-design its library services is "legally flawed".
According to a report by the BBC, campaigners have won a High Court decision against Lincolnshire County Council over it's re-design plan to save £2m.
The case was brought by a group called Save Lincolnshire Libraries, which had collected a petition with 23,000 signatures against a council plan to reduce it's number of libraries from 45 to 15.
The remaining 30 libraries were to be given over to communities and volunteers, or simply be closed.
However the High Court has ruled that the council had failed to with an alternative proposal properly and that it had conducted a "flawed public consultation".
