Fire At Co Tyrone Factory

A blaze has broken out at a plastics factory at Benburb, Co Tyrone.

The alarm was raised shortly before 10.45pm on Thursday night.

Some 40 firefighters attended the scene with appliances from Armagh, Dungannon and Portadown.

In a statement, the NI Fire and Rescue Service said: "Three main jets were in use to extinguish the blaze in the building which was being used for industrial manufacturing involving plastics."

There are no further details about the incident.

Two fires at a derelict factory in Co Tyrone are being treat as arson. The first blaze started at Herdman's Mill in Sion Mills on Friday, 10 June, which caused substantial damage. The second fire was started on Saturday, 11 June, at around 8.30pm, and caused further damage. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Double Fire Alert In Antrim Area
A probe is now underway into a fire that forced more than 50 people to be moved from their homes as the blaze destroyed a factory outside Antrim town. During most of the afternoon smoke was visible as far away as Holywood, Co Down and in Ballymena, such was the intensity of the fire and the smoke given off.

Man dies at scene of factory blaze
More than 80 firefighters have been called to deal with a large fire at a factory in Co Londonderry on Thursday. The blaze broke out at the Sperrin Metal's manufacturing facility in Draperstown at around 9pm and one man is believed to have died at the scene, however the death is not thought to be related to the fire.

Factory blaze threatens 10 jobs at Derry engineering firm
Around 10 jobs are set to go in Co Londonderry following a fire at an engineering factory last night. The blaze was spotted at Foyleside Engineering in Creggan at around 10pm. Firecrews were called and eventually got hold of the fire, preventing it spreading to nearby shops and offices.

Two Arrested After Cannabis Factory Find In Co Down
Two people have been arrested after cannabis, worth an estimated street value of £35,000, was discovered in Co Down. A 50-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were arrested following the cannabis factory find in the Bexley Road area in Bangor on Tuesday. Suspected herbal cannabis and plants at various stages of growth were seized.
