Liam Neeson Joins Stars' Wars In New Comedy
Co Antrim's Liam Neeson and actress Helena Bonham Carter have been revealed as members of an all star cast for a new comedy from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.
The BBC Two's fake documentary, Life's Too Short, will follow in the style of Gervais' previous hits The Office and Extras, and follows dwarf actor and other Star Wars alumni Warwick Davis, parodying his life as a successful actor and owner of a talent agency.
The show is being made by BBC Two and HBO and is scheduled for transmission in autumn this year.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly Gervais described is as "a cross between Extras and Curb your Enthusiasm and One Foot in the Grave but with a dwarf".
"It’s a single camera sitcom following the trials and tribulations of ‘Warwick Davis, showbiz dwarf. Warwick is playing a twisted version of himself. He’s quite conceited and arrogant and manipulative. And he runs a [small person] talent agency, which he does in real life."
The show will also star Gervais Merchant, while the rest of the cast includes Johnny Depp, Sting, Steve Carell, Cat Deeley, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Les Dennis, Keith Chegwin and Shaun Williamson.
