London Teen Dies After Being Shot In The Head
A teenager has died after being shot in the head in the latest of a series of such violent incidents that are blighting the capital.
Seventeen-year-old Sharmaake Hassan was found in Gilbeys Yard, Camden at around 11pm on Saturday night.
Police say that no one has yet been arrested over the incident.
Superintendent Paul Morris from Camden Borough Police said it was "a shocking tragedy" and that the police are working closely with community groups to "offer reassurance".
The shooting follows the unrelated fatal stabbing of Rob Knox, 18, who was stabbed outside the Metro Bar in Sidcup on the same day.
Mr Knox was due to play a small part in the forthcoming Harry Potter movie.
Twenty-one-year-old Karl Biship, of Beaver Lodge, Carlton Road has appeared at Bexley Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of Mr Knox and five charges of wounding with intent.
He has been remanded in custody to appear again at the Old Bailey on September 2.
It is believed that the Camden shooting victim - Mr Hassan - is the fifteenth teenager to suffer a violent death in London.
Metropolitan Commissioner, Sir Ian Blair said that parents must speak to their children about carrying weapons.
"To parents, its tough love time. In addition to conversations about drink, drugs and relationships, there is now conversations about knives."
