Two Britons killed in Baghdad ambush
Two British civilians have been killed in an explosion in Baghdad, according to reports emerging today.
Two British citizens and two Iraqis were killed in what is thought to have been a rocket-propelled grenade attack in central Baghdad this morning. A third British man is reported to have been injured in the incident.
According to the BBC, a 4x4 vehicle carrying civilian contractors was destroyed in an ambush outside Coalition headquarters.
The Foreign Secretary Jack Straw condemned the killings as "shocking".

Four ex-British soldiers killed in Baghdad bomb attack
Four former British soldiers, employed as private security guards in Iraq, have been killed in a mortar attack, it has emerged today. It was reported that the Nepalese nationals died in a mortar attack on Baghdad's secure Green Zone yesterday. The bomb is believed to have landed inside their encampment.

Two British soldiers have been killed in a car accident in Baghdad, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed today. The pair, Major James Stenner, 30, of the Welsh Guards, and Sergeant Norman Patterson, 28, of the Cheshire Regiment, were killed following a road traffic accident in Baghdad early on 1 January.

More than 35 US soldiers and 450 Iraqis are thought to have been killed in country-wide clashes between rebel militias and Coalition forces since the weekend, according to reports emerging from Iraq today. Around 300 Iraqis are thought to have been killed in Fallujah where US forces have been attempting to regain control of the city.

The signing ceremony took place in the capital Baghdad today and is the template for governance after the official handover of power from the US-led administration to the governing council in July.
